Dane Buy Local is entering a season of transition as we announce the departure of our Executive Director, Paula Severson. Paula’s last day in the role will be April 25, 2025, as she moves on to a new opportunity with a local financial services firm.
Since stepping into the Executive Director position in October 2023, Paula has led with energy, professionalism, and a deep commitment to our mission. Under her leadership, Dane Buy Local expanded its reach and strengthened connections within the local business community through strategic partnerships — including with several local chambers of commerce and the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce. Her work has helped members access new resources, educational opportunities, and valuable networks to support their success.
“I care deeply about the mission to support local businesses and strengthen our communities. It’s been an honor to work alongside the business owners and organizations who share those values. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together to build a more connected, resilient local economy,” Paula shared.
We are incredibly grateful to Paula for her contributions and the positive impact she has made. She will be missed, and we wish her all the best in her next chapter.
In preparation for this transition, the Dane Buy Local Board of Directors has begun the search for our next Executive Director. During this process, we are pleased to share that Meghan Stern, our Development Specialist since 2021, will step in as Interim Executive Director. Meghan has been a vital part of the DBL team and brings a strong sense of connection, experience, and care to the role. We are confident in her ability to guide the organization forward during this time.
