The April gallery hanging at Blue Bar Quilts will highlight how the frame sets fiber art apart from other interior textiles.  See how using a frame changes the viewer’s consideration of a fiber piece from functional décor to inspirational art.

Fiber art and art quilts are best seen vertically so each design element gets equal attention.  When displayed laying horizontally, on a flat surface, much of the design work can be lost to the viewer.  

Come to an exhibit of fiber and textile art by Jane Foos and Carolyn Benforado that are mounted and framed for hanging as wall art.  Get inspired to take your works to the next level: framed and hung beside the painting and prints on your walls. 

 Jane Foos creates art using fabric as the color and stitch as the drawn line.  She will share design considerations, resources, and framing ideas for mounting textile art. 

Carolyn Benforado will talk about the concept behind Paradigm shifts, intersecting identity with elemental energy using the box as a framework of normative gaze.
