Support Ukraine

April 18 - April 24

Dane Buy Local (DBL) has been receiving requests for suggestions on how to help the Ukrainian refugee relief efforts. It can feel like an individual contribution won’t make much of a difference, so DBL has an idea to encourage and grow our efforts on a community level. From April 18‒24 you can visit any of these businesses to help your community support Ukraine.

EZOP will be raising Ukraine funds by selling candles blue/yellow candles handcrafted by Door County Candle Company.

100% of the sales of our Ukrainian egg decorating supplies will be donated. Also, the first 20 people to make a donation to the International Rescue Committee will receive a wooden Ukraine sunflower magnet handmade for us in Oklahoma by J & J Woodshop.

Selling Ukraine’s popular dish Varenyky. 100% of the money from the sale will be donated to World Central Kitchens.

$3 of every pin sold will go to the Ukraine Relief Effort. This blue and yellow hand-beaded tree is on a metal base with a pin back.

GHC staff contributed, and the GHC organization matched,
to give to UNICEF

Metcalfe’s sold paper sunflowers and collected donations at checkout from March 18th – April 16th.  Shoppers could also donate Metcalfe’s Rewards points, from our loyalty program.
$38,505.41 and have been sent to World Central Kitchen

Madison Essentials will match staff donations.

Beer Festival
Various Locations
Local breweries will make different
beers and release 
them at the beer festival on April 24.

DBL is not taking a political position on the conflict, but simply acting in response to requests to provide a means to increase donations to this humanitarian effort. DBL looks at this as one community helping another, and DBL will not receive any of the donated funds nor compensation for its efforts.
