Scaling Up Local Food Procurement in Wisconsin: A Farm to Institution Conference

Registration is open for the inaugural Nourishing Wisconsin Conference! Co-hosted by FairShare CSA Coalition and REAP Food Group, this Farm to Institution conference will bring together producers and buyers from across the state to build community knowledge and identify gaps for wholesale distribution. 

Event Details: 

• Date: November 10-11, 2025
• Location: Madison College Truax Campus 
• Event Highlights: Hear from state officials on farm to public institution sales, behind the scenes tour of the emergent Foodshed Partnership, and make direct connections with growers and buyers.

“I’m excited that REAP and FairShare are collaborating to create a space for growers and buyers to connect with one another and to determine ways to make this sales channel more effective for everyone,” shares Beth Stropki, a co-planner for the event. “Over the past year, we’ve really seen how important it is to bolster local food communities, and this is yet another opportunity to build these critical connections.”

During the conference there will be sessions on initiating relationships, planning for production, and different avenues for selling to institutions. Many of the presenters are seasoned farmers, aggregators, and buyers, and will provide valuable insight and guidance to those who are new to this work.
