First Fridays Opening Reception featuring Ellen Crane: Art Hub

Some of you may be familiar with Ellen Crane, she has some of her photography on the Art Hub Gallery walls as well as a line of cards available here.

Ellen’s Artist Statement:

After living in New York for nearly 25 years, I moved to Fort Atkinson to live with and care for my elderly mother. I spend most of my time inside the house, especially during winter. In February, I became fascinated with ice crystals and frost on my bedroom windows.

Around the same time, another ICE was operating like a solid boulder rolling out of control, damaging communities and harming individuals. As the delicate window ice softened into tears or reflective drops, the other ICE remained frozen, harsh, unyielding. I dedicate these images to those who defy such rigidity to foster a more compassionate world.
