Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive

In partnership with News 3 Now, Mid-West Family Madison and American Printing Company, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul-Madison will hold its 34th annual Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive January 31^st – February 1^st, 2026. The drive encourages community members to donate new and gently used bedding, blankets and sheets, which will be distributed to low-income families throughout the year. 

Why Blankets?

Everybody deserves warm and clean blankets. Each year, Dane County families turn to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul — Madison for bedding, blankets and sheets to keep their children warm, to sleep comfortably and to get a good night’s sleep. Last year, hundreds of struggling families received blankets at no cost.

How to Help:

• Drop off blankets at any Dane County Vinny’s Thrift Store or participating church between January 31^st – February 1^st. A list of drop-off sites can be found at https://svdpmadison.org/rtw/
• Make a monetary donation to purchase new blankets at https://svdpmadison.org/rtw/
• Energize your friends, clubs, church, troops, and teams to help your neighbors in need. It’s a great service project for all ages.

In 2025, St. Vincent de Paul – Madison distributed blankets and bedding valued at around $98,000 to 900 families in need!

Blankets collected during Recycle the Warmth that exceed the required annual supply to provide to families in need may be sold in St. Vinny’s Thrift Stores to fund our food pantry, charitable pharmacy and other services.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul — Madison is a membership organization dedicated to helping our neighbors in need. Volunteers conduct in-person home visits with people experiencing financial hardships and offer resources, hope and friendship. St. Vincent de Paul — Madison offers services such as food, prescription medicine, clothing, furniture, household goods, emergency financial assistance, storage lockers and guidance to neighbors in need. Seven St. Vinny’s Thrift Stores across Dane County help fund these services and provide direct charity through a furniture, household goods and clothing voucher program for people living on low incomes.
