Sips & Slices

Calling all brunch fans! You are invited to Sips & Slices: A Brunch Taste-off for The River on Sunday, September 15 from 1–4 pm at The East Side Club, located at 3735 Monona Drive in Madison.

Back for its second year, this competition will feature teams of local chefs and celebrities who will battle for the title of Best Brunch Slice. Attendees will sample slices of sweet and savory brunch dishes and vote for their favorites. The bar will also offer classic brunch cocktails, like Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas, as well as coffee, juice, soda, wine and beer. One of the beer offerings will be a special River Brew created by our “sips sponsor,” Vintage Brewing Co.

All the proceeds from this second annual fundraising event will go toward providing healthy food for the growing number of food-insecure families who utilize The River Food Pantry’s services.

“After receiving the most amazing feedback from everyone involved last year, we just had to bring back Sips & Slices, but this time with a new brunch spin!” said Rhonda Adams, Executive Director at The River. “Please join us for a fun afternoon filled with sips and slices, a silent auction, and raffles, all while supporting Dane County’s busiest food pantry.”

Early bird tickets are $85 now through August 15. The cost will then increase to $95. Tickets include brunch tastings, two voting tickets, and one drink.
